A girl I work with at EB's brother got killed...
...In Iraq!
She was gone for a while for the funeral once the body got back.
Today she told me what happened.
Her brother Isacc Nieves was a Engineering specialist and his unit was positioned about 25 miles north east of Baghdad. I guess his squad were in a Humvee heading out to do something and they had to stop:
Isacc got out first, and as soon as he stepped out about a dozen insurgents that were hiding when they rolled up jumped out and opened up with small arms fire. One of the dumbass Insurgents had a RPG and fired it at their vehicle, and it just happened to hit her brother directly in the head. He died on instantly, I guess most of his head kinda went evereywhere the way Maria decribed it all. And his body got very shot up.
Very sad...
But their is some good news, none of his team was hurt or killed, aside from himself. Apparantly he had stepped right out of the vehicle and blocked the RPG from even hitting the vehicle, thus saving four others.
Anyways:
7 Iraqi's were taken prisoner after it was all done. I can't remember what day this happened, I think it was April 2nd, a paper at the store's breakroom had alot more info on it, including family info and info about what military group he was a part of.
He was 20 years old.
